ISU community
Most undergraduate students can borrow items until the end of the semester.
Undergraduate students taking 500+ level classes and those in the second year of the University Honors Program can borrow items until the end of the academic year.
Graduate students, faculty and staff (including emeriti and retiree), and visiting scholars can all borrow items until the end of the academic year.
Library visitor card holders
If you are a guest or alumni with a free or paid library visitor card or a spouse, domestic partner, or adult dependent of an ISU faculty, staff or student, you can borrow items for 12 weeks.
If you are a retiree, emeritus faculty, affiliate, or spouse, domestic partner, or adult dependent of an ISU faculty, staff or student, you can borrow items until the end of the academic year unless an item is recalled by another patron.
Borrowers from FastTRAC member institutions
If you have a library card at a FastTRAC library, you can borrow items for 16 weeks.
Borrowing from another library
If you have an ISUCard or a paid library visitor card, you can borrow items from other libraries through interlibrary loan. Depending on the lending library, loan times for these items can range from 3 weeks to 16 weeks.
Exceptions
Your borrowing time will be shortened if someone else requests an item you have. You will receive an email with the subject line "Due Date Change." You need to return it by the new due date, or you will be charged a fine.
You can borrow Reference items for 1 week.
You can borrow Course Reserves items for 3 hours. These must be used only in the library.
