The University Library hired Alfred Wallace as its new AI instruction librarian. A former aerospace librarian and "Jeopardy!" contestant, Wallace will design workshops on responsible AI use, serve as the subject specialist for artificial intelligence, and refine AI elements in LIB 1600. Wallace's position was created with support from the Col. Gary G. Swenson Ph.D. University Librarian endowment, and he plans to listen and learn about campus AI practices while teaching fall workshops on AI literacy with Gemini and advanced tools for researchers.
