Using the Family-Friendly Room

People caring for children can use the family-friendly room.

You can reserve the room for up to 4 hours each day.

You are responsible for the children in the room. You should not leave children or belongings in the room unattended.

The room is not soundproof. Keep noise to a moderate level.

Up to 8 people can use the room at one time, two caregivers and six children.

Speak with someone at the Main Desk on the first floor if you have questions.

At the end of your visit, return the toys to their containers and wipe down surfaces to leave it for the next person.

University partners

We partnered with Student Government, Graduate and Professional Student Senate, University Worklife and Family Services, and the ISU Daily to offer the family-friendly space in Parks Library for ISU students, faculty, and staff with children. We recognize the needs parents face while studying, researching, and using library resources, including the need for child-friendly spaces on campus where they can work with their children nearby.
