Preservation and Stacks Management
On August 3, 2020, the Preservation & Stacks Management Department will implement a phased and partial return to working on campus. The majority of staff will work some days on campus and some remotely. The best way to contact staff remains via email.

Audiovisual and Film Preservation: Rosie Rowe, 403 Parks Library, 515-294-7755
Responsibilities: Physical care and preservation of the sound and moving image collections held within the ISU Library especially within the Special Collections and University Archives.
Collections Conservator: Sonya Barron, 441 Parks Library, 515 294-9116
Responsibilities: Coordination and implementation of a preservation program for the University Library collections in all formats. Conservation treatment, digital conversion, binding, brittle book replacement, environmental monitoring, disaster preparedness, and preservation education are the primary aspects of the preservation program efforts.

Responsibilities: Physical care of general, circulating materials in the Parks Library, Library Storage Building, and the Reading Rooms, as well as Special Collections and Archives materials.

Responsibilities: Development of policy and oversight of technical procedures in support of the long-term retention of digital objects held within the ISU Library.

Responsibilities: This unit brings together all vended services under one manager. It consists of reformatting services including, preservation photocopying and microfilming, custom-fit enclosures, and commercial library binding. Shelf preparation is also a function of this unit, providing materials with security devices, property stamps, bookplates, and call number labels.

Responsibilities: Staff in Stacks Management provide physical access to the Parks Library building and its general collections. They also oversee the Library Storage Building and the Periodical Room. The section includes the following units:
