What we do

We help people access and use our services, collections, and resources.

We partner with instructors to make required course materials available to students for free.

We provide a safe environment for patrons to learn and research. We care for and manage the library’s physical collections and lend and borrow materials from libraries worldwide to support students and scholars.

Who we are

At the Main Desk, we check out, renew, and return materials. These materials include course reserves items, some study room keys, and umbrellas and other special items. We answer questions about library resources, library account logins, fines, and fees. The Main Desk also holds the lost and found, and is the place to report accidents, emergencies, or concerns.

We provide access to library materials from around the world and give other libraries access to our materials. We deliver both digital files and physical copies of materials to eligible borrowers. We scan small portions of our physical items for eligible ISU borrowers.

Stacks Management Unit

Jacob Eddy

Operations Manager and Library Associate, Access Services

We organize, secure, and label physical items in our general collections. We reshelve library items and oversee and organize the Library Storage Facility, where we keep older materials. We scan and lend Library Storage materials to our patrons and to libraries worldwide.
