The Catalyst is Open for Researchers

Author: Melea Reicks Licht

The Catalyst is a modern, collaborative incubator offering specialized service in  digital scholarshipdigital publishing, good  data management, and data sharing.

Graduate students, undergrad researchers, staff, and faculty can attend workshops, stop by the space on the first floor of Parks Library, or  make an appointment to work with a specialist. Business hours are Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. The Catalyst may be used as an open study space after 6 p.m. and on weekends.

Two new lunchtime drop-in events are being offered weekly this semester beginning September 18. No appointment is necessary.

  • Research Methods Meet Ups will feature discussion and advice from Catalyst staff and Philip Dixon, professor of statistics, on Mondays at noon or 1 p.m. Check the University Library calendar for details. Participants are invited to bring their data and be ready to dig into details.
  • Tidy Data Salons, informal data work sessions, will be held on Thursdays at noon for participants to tame their spreadsheets and organize your files. It's a great time for solo and for group work. Catalyst staff will provide chill beats and snacks.
