Attention graduate students and faculty advisors! LIB 5600x will open in spring 2026 for graduate students who want to build a solid foundation in academic research. This course covers a wide range of topics, from developing a research question to the ethical considerations of using and creating new information. Students will gain practical, hands-on experience with modern research tools, library resources, and data management practices. Students will save time andfrustration trying to find articles about a particular topic and will learn how to navigate the research landscape in their field of study. In this two-credit, in-person course, students build an academic network that supports their scholarly growth, and they will create a research portfolio to support their writing and research goals.
