Return or renew library materials

Graduate students, faculty and staff (including emeriti and retirees), visiting scholars, and affiliates with ISU Library materials (books, journals, DVDs, etc.) due on May 15, 2026 can now be renewed. 

Renew items 3 ways:    

1. Online: Log on to your Library Account  

Login with either your NetID and password OR your email and Open Athens password. 

Select Loans to view a list of the items currently checked out to you. 

Select Renew (or Renew All) to renew desired titles. 

2. Telephone: Call 515-294-3961. Have your ISU ID number or ISU Library Visitor Card number ready. 

3. In person: Renew during open hours at Parks or Veterinary Medical Libraries. Please bring your ISU Card (or ISU Library Visitor Card) and the items you wish to renew. 

Please note: Renewals are now limited to three years. Materials exceeding three years must be returned and may be rechecked out at Parks or the Veterinary Medical Library. Patrons may check out the same items immediately, provided there are no holds or other reasons to prevent it.
