Open Science Framework ends support for Projects

On August 8, Open Science Framework (OSF) announced that its support of Projects – an online space for file storage, file management, file sharing, and collaboration – is being phased out. As of November 16, no new Projects or Components can be created and by February 19, 2027, all OSF Projects will become read-only, e.g. frozen. OSF has prepared robust documentation to help users navigate this change. 

Iowa State researchers and scholars looking for an alternative way to openly share their research and scholarship are encouraged to make use of local solutions. Iowa State University Digital Repository supports preprints, educational materials, presentations, and more while DataShare provides a safe and stable platform for sharing datasets, code, and software. Private files stored on OSF can be transferred to institutionally supported storage services.
