New digital collection: Iowa State Student Directories

Iowa State College Student Directories is a new digital collection scanned for access and available to researchers from the Special Collections and University Archives. Iowa State College, now Iowa State University, began publishing student directories in 1901 to support student life, facilitate communication, and promote local businesses. The collection includes directories published from 1901 to 1910, and offer alphabetical listings of students, their campus residences, and a variety of advertisements from Ames-area businesses that catered to the college community. Some directories include a map that shows the location of campus buildings, boarding houses, faculty homes, fraternities, and clubs. Additional directories will be scanned in batches and added to this collection in the coming months.
