Access to ISU Library e-resources requires users to login both on campus and off campus, and is available to these three groups: (1) ISU students, faculty and staff with an active (working) ISU NetID; (2) Specific user groups with an active ISU OpenAthens account; (3) Any member of the public who comes to Parks Library in person.

Figure 1 shows the initial login screen. Pick the option to log into Okta and use your Net-ID to sign into the library system. Your Net-ID is the portion of your ISU email address that appears before the @ symbol, as in:yourNet-ID@iastate.edu
If you have already signed into Okta during your browser session, you may not need to log in again.
If you are using a VPN connection to campus, turning it off will avoid problems connecting to ISU Library e-resources
Access to ISU Library e-resources are available to anyone from inside Parks Library. Access to these materials from outside Parks Library is restricted to members of the following groups of Iowa State University library patrons.
Groups with OpenAthens access rights:
- Visiting faculty/scholars (affiliated with an ISU dept./office)
- USDA Collaborators
- ISU Research Park
- ISU Foundation
- ISU Center
If you have an ISU OpenAthens account (but not an ISU Net-ID), use that to sign into the library system. Your OpenAthens userid will be the email address the library has on file for you. First, pick the OpenAthens option when you see this login screen:
Next you will see the screen shown in Figure 2. Enter your OpenAthens userid (email address) and password in the area highlighted by the red box.

Password = guest2020
