Overleaf, the online LaTeX editor, added to Okta single sign-on page

Author: Eric Schares

Overleaf graphic.Iowa State researchers can now access Overleaf, the real time LaTeX complier, though their Okta single sign-on.

Since 2018, anyone with an active ISU Net-ID has been eligible to freely upgrade their Overleaf account to a Professional plan, providing more storage, upgraded features, and more.

Adding SSO makes it easier to access Overleaf by using an existing authentication prompt and brings more visibility to Iowa State's agreement.

If you have an existing Overleaf account with your @iastate.edu email address, a prompt will appear asking you to link to single sign-on. Additionally, an Overleaf tile is now available to add to your main Okta sign-on page.

Administered by the University Library with support from the College of Engineering, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, and the Graduate College, over 3,000 Iowa State users have taken advantage of the upgraded Overleaf account.

Get started or to link your existing account.

To add the Overleaf tile to your Okta page:

  • Log in to Okta with your Net-ID and password

  • Click “Add Apps” on the left-hand side

  • Search for “Overleaf” and click “Add.”
