Special Collections & University Archives News: Transfer papers and records to archives

May 11, 2016 · Rachel Seale

As the academic year comes to an end and spring-cleaning begins, staff members of the University Archives (Iowa State University Library) remind the campus community that transfers of records and papers from University offices and faculty are welcome. While cleaning out files, keep the University Archives (UA) in mind as a records repository. The mission of the UA is to preserve historically valuable records and other materials, which document the development of Iowa State University.

Materials are accepted in most formats, including electronic records, images, and three-dimensional artifacts. Consult the University Records Retention Schedules for details on what to keep and what to dispose of, and review SCUA guidelines for transferring University Records or donating faculty papers.

For additional information, visit the SCUA website. Contact staff at archives@iastate.edu or call 515-294-6672 with questions.
