From the Science and Technology Dept.: Meet the new engineering librarians!

Two new Engineering & Physical Sciences Librarians started working for the ISU Library on June 1, 2015.? Eric Schares is the librarian for Electrical & Computer Engineering and Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering. Erin Thomas is the librarian for Materials Sciences & Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Both will teach library research classes and workshops, staff the AskUs service to answer library research questions, and order library materials for their assigned academic departments.

Eric earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from ISU and worked as an engineer for 9? years at Intel on NAND flash memory reliability in Folsom, Calif. and Portland, Ore. While working at Intel, he went back to school and earned his MLIS with an emphasis on digital libraries from Rutgers University.?

Erin received her MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May. As a graduate student, she worked at many libraries around the UW-Madison campus, including the chemistry and engineering branch libraries, and she assisted with research for mechanical engineering design courses.
