Summer Institute for Digital Inquiry

The library Summer Institute for Digital Inquiry is a four‑day, in‑person workshop introducing graduate students to computational and digital methods for research, including data management, text analysis, mapping, and digital storytelling. The 2026 institute is planned for May 18-21. Participants will explore digital projects, build foundational skills, and connect with peers and library experts around future digital and collaborative work. Coffee and lunch are provided daily, and participation is fully supported by the library. 

Who should attend: 

Iowa State graduate students from any discipline who are curious about digital or computational approaches to research—no prior experience required. 

Applications open March 23 and are due April 15, 2026.
