Library is a "Standing Innovation" sponsor at the State Fair
One of the highlights for many visitors to the Iowa State Fair is a stroll through the Varied Industries Building on the Grand Avenue Concourse. This year, your Iowa State University Library is a sponsor of the ISU exhibition Standing Innovation, which provides a forum for student entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to fair visitors. As part of the library sponsorship, a four-sided display was created to convey information about our resources and services, our spaces, our history, and our longstanding tradition of supporting innovation.
The display highlights the library as the gateway to innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Visitors to the State Fair will learn more about how we spark discovery in Iowa and across the world. View the finished display at the fair through Aug. 18 at the fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Business Librarian and Professor Jeff Kushkowsi led the project, as he is involved with a group on campus that coordinates academic entrepreneurship programs. The following people helped make this project a success: Jeff Alger, Amy Bishop, Hope Craft, Greg Davis, Olivia Garrison, Jody Kalvik, Cynthia Kapteyn, Brad Kuennen, Nacuya Rucker, Rachel Seale, Hilary Seo, Kristi Schaaf, Carole Custer from University Marketing, and the team at Printing Services.
