Library news: Solve the mystery of personal digital file management
Private i: The Mystery of Managing Personal Digital Files is scheduled for?3-4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016.?Kim Anderson, digital initiatives archivist, and Rachel Seale, outreach archivist, will present this interactive workshop on personal digital archiving. What steps should you take to save image, audio, email, and other digital files? Join?Kim and Rachel to learn tips and techniques for working with digital files at home and work.
This workshop is designed for ISU participants from all backgrounds and levels of experience and will explore the what, why, and how of keeping well-managed digital files through a murder mystery activity. A range of topics will be covered: best practices for creating digital records, rights issues in the digital landscape, strategies for storing digital records and emerging developments regarding one's own digital afterlife. Participants will leave knowing how to better manage digital assets over time.
