The University Library has 10 Macs (Model: 13-inch MacBook Air) and 10 Windows (Model: 14-inch Latitude E5450) laptops available for checkout from the Parks Library Circulation Service Desk, west of the main entrance. These laptops are for the use of current ISU students and staff, and a valid ISU ID card is required for checkout. A laptop checkout agreement form must be signed as part of the process. Along with the, laptop users will receive a power cord and a case.

Laptops are available on a first come, first served basis, and cannot be reserved in advance. The borrowing period for a laptop is one day. They cannot be taken out of the building and must be returned before the library closes on the day they were checked out.

Laptops are equipped with the same software as the public workstations in the library, including standard office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, etc.).?Per Iowa State University Policy, it is expected that laptops will only be used for academic purposes. When a laptop is rebooted, documents previously saved will be permanently deleted.?The laptops have wireless connections to provide access to important web-based tools, such as Blackboard.
