From the Dean
Welcome to Your Library - Newsletter! With this inaugural issue, we look forward to informing you of library news, services, new research tools, instruction opportunities, and future events. We want you to get to know our faculty and staff, and learn how they might assist you with your teaching, research, and extension/professional practice.
The Iowa State University Library is here to serve you in all your academic endeavors. We want to make sure you are aware of all we have to offer, whether it is our electronic journal collection of over 10,000 current titles, the Instruction Commons and extensive electronic reserve service, our new electronic chat reference service, or expanding document delivery services. With technology changing rapidly and more library research tools moving to the computer, Your Library will help keep you abreast of all the latest library electronic collections and services available to you and your students. As crucial as our electronic presence is, the newsletter will also keep you up-to-date with important developments in the Parks Library and the branch library facilities.
The University Library can't make progress without you! We sincerely appreciate your past support, and we want to keep lines of communication open. If you have any suggestions or ideas on what you would like covered in these monthly communiques, please don't hesitate to contact David Baldwin, Associate Dean for Reference and Instruction and Your Library editor (firstname.lastname@example.org) or me (email@example.com). We hope you enjoy Your Library - Newsletter!
