Consultations Available to Faculty Looking for Free Educational Materials
Open Access Librarian Abbey Elder is offering virtual consultations with faculty to help locate open educational resources (OER) for fall 2020 and spring 2021 courses. Open Educational Resources (OER) are materials that are free to access and carry legal permission for use and reuse. Faculty have been using OER at Iowa State both as textbook replacements and as ancillary materials, but many have asked for help locating content. We have had consultations available in person in the past, but they are now available online to accommodate the needs of faculty and staff working from home.
At these consultations, you can get support:
Finding open textbooks and other open course materials
Accessing rubrics and other resources for evaluating OER
Planning for a larger OER project
Email the Open Access & Scholarly Communication Librarian, Abbey Elder, at firstname.lastname@example.org to set up a consultation for your course.
