Apr 11, 2018

Charles Yier has been accepted for the 2018 Minnesota Institute for Early Career Librarians, which will be held July 16-20 on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. Yier is among 26 individuals chosen via the competitive application process. The institute aims to develop library leaders from diverse backgrounds, including from traditionally underrepresented groups.

Participants will reflect on personal leadership styles, explore strengths, and discover areas for continued development. The Institute offers a place for emerging leaders to discover how they can be influential as they reach leadership goals and serve their organizations and the field of librarianship.

Yier came to Iowa State in July 2017. He serves as social sciences and humanities librarian and liaison to the journalism and mass communications and apparel, events and hospitality management departments.
