Data Sharing and Archiving
Iowa State University’s DataShare, a partnership project supported by the University Library, Office of the Vice President for Research, and Information Technology, is an open access repository for sharing and publishing research data created by University scholars and researchers. Questions about DataShare can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Data Management Plan Assistance
The University Library's Data Management Plan Guide is a complete resource on data management. The guide contains an FAQ section, a learning module (Write a DMP), agency requirements, and more.
The ISU Library is a supporter and subscriber to the DMPTool which managed by the California Digital Library. DMPTool contains sample data management plans, DMP templates and other useful information related to DMPs. You can log into DMPTool with your Net-Id and password.
Library workshop on data management and data sharing are held every Fall and Spring semester. A list of past and upcoming workshops is available on the Library Workshops page.
Training by request
Special workshops, seminars, or activities for classes, departments, labs, and more can be requested by emailing Megan O'Donnell, Data Services Librarian. Available topics include: documenting your data, file organization and management, data sharing best practices, and more.
Librarians can assist with a wide variety of data questions. Common services include assistance in understanding data management/data sharing plan requirements, file organization, and help locating relevant data repositories.
