Library Liaisons

The work of the Library Liaisons directly impacts the ability of the Library to effectively support faculty and students and advance the university's strategic mission. The primary roles for Library Liaisons representing their departments are as follows:

  • Primary representatives: Serve as the primary representatives between the colleges/departments/programs, and the library.
  • Information conduit: Relay critical updates and relevant library information to their colleagues.
  • Curricular and collection influence: Inform their subject librarians about curricular changes and research needs that may affect library collection building priorities.
  • Research and evolution advocates: Influence and participate in the evolution of research at the university.
  • Collaborative engagement: Offer regular opportunities for exchanging ideas, advocating and sharing research and teaching needs from their college/department/program.

The subject librarians in turn provide library updates to the colleges through the faculty liaisons and advocate for the development or refinement of library services based on communicated needs.
