Collection description

This collection (1899-1941) contains five ledger books documenting the business transactions of the W. W. Gingles farm and medical practice.  The ledger books record the income generated from the sale of agricultural goods such as hogs, cattle, poultry, honey, corn, and hay as well as the income he earned through his medical practice.  The books also document business, farm, and household expenses such as automobile repairs, coal, food, gasoline, laundry, shoes, and taxes.  The two earliest books record transactions involving the breeding and sale of horses.
