Biographical note

Adrienne Nerola Rogers was born to John and Katherine Rogers in Ohio on September 9, 1855.  The family moved to Iowa when Adrienne was two years old and settled in Hardin County.   Adrienne was one of seven children.

Adrienne married Hamilton Nathan "H. N." Peckham and they had six children: Erol, Clifford, Lilly, Cecil, Hubert, and Setha.  H. N. had four children already, but his first wife died during childbirth.  The family farmed near Union, Iowa.  They would later take up residence near Lake City, Iowa, and also New Providence, Iowa.  Adrienne and H. N. eventually moved to Caldwell, Idaho.

Lilly Dale Peckham graduated from Union High School (1899) in Union, Iowa, and became a public school teacher like her aunt, Lilly V. Rogers.  She married Clarence Evan Pickett in 1913. 

Carolyn Pickett Miller donated this material in 2004.  She is the daughter of Lilly and Clarence Pickett.

Collection description

This collection (1875-1938, n.d.) contains material associated with the family of Adrienne N. (Rogers) and Hamilton Nathan "H. N." Peckham.  The collection includes Adrienne's genealogical writings about the Rogers and Peckham families, correspondence between Adrienne and her banker regarding her father's homestead, family photographs, Lilly Rogers's teaching certificates and correspondence from friends, Lilly (Peckham) Pickett's high school graduation program, postcards and programs associated with the town of Union, Iowa, and miscellaneous documents related to the Peckham's farmstead also near Union, Iowa.
