| Historical note |
| The Iowa Ornithological Association was organized on 15 June 1894 in order to "promote more thorough study of the birds" of the state of Iowa. The association was to complete most of its work through correspondence. Active members were to send their observations every three months to the secretary for publication. |
Collection description |
| The collection consists of one bound manuscript notebook containing minutes of the first through third annual congresses, 1895-1897, a list of members, its constitution and by laws, news clippings, correspondence, and financial records. |
