|
The American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD)
was organized at the 1957 annual meeting of the American Veterinary
Medical Association. Its
purposes are to disseminate information relating to the diagnosis of
animal diseases; to coordinate diagnostic activities of regulatory,
research, and service laboratories; to establish uniform diagnostic
techniques; to improve existing diagnostic techniques; to develop new
diagnostic techniques; to establish accepted guidelines for the
improvement of diagnostic laboratory organizations relative to personnel
qualifications and facilities; and to be the consultant to the United
States Animal Health Association on uniform diagnostic criteria involved
in regulatory animal disease programs.
The group is based in Davis,
California.

This collection includes annual reports, committee reports, constitution
and bylaws, correspondence, financial records, mailing lists, materials
from symposia and conferences, meeting minutes, membership directories,
newsletters, and publications. It
contains correspondence and other materials from Arthur Bickford, Alicia
V. Brown, Bruce W. Calnek, Robert J. Eckroade, C. F. Hall, Birch
McMurray, Craig Riddell, A. S. Rosenwald, Richard L. Witter, Willis E.
Lyle, and Lawrence G. Morehouse.
