Historical note

 
The American College of Theriogenologists is a specialty organization dedicated to promote the development of continuing education and to increase the knowledge of all veterinarians and to further advances in science and animal reproduction practices, including pathology and physiology of reproduction in domesticated animals.   The College's mission towards members of the veterinary community is to offer the opportunity to qualify and earn a diploma through its certifying agency to distinguish veterinarians as specialists in theriogenology.

The College separated from The American Veterinary Board of Animal Reproduction and became a distinct entity in 1971. The home of the American College of Theriogenologists is in Nashville Tennessee, and the meetings and actions of the American College of Theriogenologists occur annually at differing locations. 

The organization is composed of American Veterinary Medical Association members, who are licensed to practice in at least one state of the union, and who have been trained by the College to be recognized as specialists in theriogenology.

 

Collection Description

 
This collection consists of one bound volume of photoduplicated materials, compiled by Dr. David E. Bartlett.  The volume contains copies of correspondence, constitution and by-laws of the American Veterinary College of Animal Reproduction; and the constitution and by-laws of The American College of Theriogenologists.

There is no table of contents or index to the volume; the contents are listed in the container list according to the order they were bound previous to their donation to the archives.
