Collection description
 

The collection contains guides and publications produced by commercial food companies for consumers.  Many of the publications were packaged as part of the product at the time of purchase.  The materials are colorful, may be distinctively shaped, and are artistic in composition.  The collection is arranged alphabetically by company, and by date within each company grouping. 

The original collection was received from Robert F. Smith of What Cheer, Iowa.  Mr Smith is a retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and author of a cookbook titled The Old and New World of Cooking.  Additional materials received from various sources have been added to the collection from time to time.
