Collection description
|
|
The collection contains guides and recipe books produced during
World War I and World War II to help homemakers manage their
household, shop for food, prepare food, and preserve food. The
collection is first arranged by wartime period covered, and then by
guides or recipe books. The guides are arranged chronologically.
The recipe books are arranged alphabetically by subject area.
The collection was received from Robert F. Smith of What Cheer,
Iowa. Mr. Smith, a Retired Staff Sergeant in the United States
Army, has written a cookbook titled, The Old and New World of
Cooking.
