Biographical
note
|
|
R. Edward Baur was a conservationist who lived
near Van Meter, Iowa. He attended Iowa State College (University) in
the late 1920s but did not receive a degree. Baur was president of
the Iowa Soil Conservation District Commission from 1951-1954. He
was also instrumental in forming a soil conservation recognition
program conducted by the Des Moines Register and Tribune for
20 years. Active in farm credit, Baur served on the board of
directors of the Farm Credit Banks of Omaha, Nebraska. |

correspondence, newspaper clippings, printed materials, reports, and
papers by Baur. Topics include soil conservation, farm credit,
Living History Farms Foundation, and conservation and livestock
organizations in which Baur was involved. |
