|
With its
roots in the development of the anti hog cholera serum, the Fort Dodge
Laboratories produces numerous veterinary medicine drugs primarily
used in the treatment of farm livestock and household pets. Fort
Dodge has an impressive history of animal health “firsts,”
including: the first canine Lyme disease vaccine, first genetically
cloned feline leukemia vaccine, the first feline ringworm vaccine, and
the first complete line of equine vaccines. In 1995,
Fort Dodge established its worldwide headquarters in Overland Park,
Kansas, following the acquisition of the American Cyanamid Company and
Syntex Animal Health. In
addition to the worldwide headquarters, Fort Dodge Animal Health has
global biological facilities in Fort Dodge, Iowa; Charles City, Iowa;
Campinas, Brazil; Sligo, Ireland; Weesp, Netherlands; Olot, Spain;
Glenorie, Australia; and Penrith, Australia. Global pharmaceutical
facilities are located in Fort Dodge, Iowa; Charles City, Iowa;
Varela, Argentina; Olot, Spain; Catania, Italy; Bulsar, India; and
Hsinchu, Taiwan.

The
correspondence in the Iowa State collection is that of H. J.
Shores dating from 1918. The collection also includes an index, which is broken down into four categories. The first section is an index to circular letters and Bureau of Animal Industry letters. At the extreme right is the subject heading, here you look up the topic you are interested in. Going across the page you will see a column labeled circular letters and Bureau of Animal Industry letters. Both these correspond with the number or date of the circular letter or the Bureau of Animal Industry letter which deals with the given topic. The remaining three sections are merely
correspondence, notices, etc. which were placed in this index. |
