| Carver had a special fondness for the Pammel family. Shortly after he went to
Tuskegee he wrote: When I get very tired I wish I could run in and see Mr. and Mrs.
Pammel as of old, bit I cannot, of course.
Pammel made several trips to Tuskegee to see the work Carver was doing there. The
letter shown was written after a visit by Dr. and Mrs. Pammel on March 3, 1928. |
