CIA Listserv Directions

Our CIA listserv has migrated to a new home at Luther. Listed below is the information about the changes to the list. It includes some nice new features including an archive of the list and web-based management. It's also easy for me to subscribe and remove members, so please let me know if you're having trouble with your subscription.  Rachel

Subscribing to a Luther College hosted listserv
-----------------------------------------------

Luther College uses the Sympa mailing list server. In addition to
traditional mailing list functionality, it provides a web interface for
users to manage their list subscriptions.

If you do not have a Luther College email address, you must
First Create an account on the luther mailing list server

1.) Open http://lists.luther.edu in your web browser.

2.) Click on the button toward the bottom of the page that says "Create
Sympa Account"

3.) Enter your email address in the pop-up window that appears, and
click the "Send me my password" button.

4.) A password will be sent to the email address you provided.

5.) Since the sympa password is long, random, and hard to remember, we
recommend clicking on the Change your password link in the email message
that is sent to you. This will allow you to change your password to
something that will be easier for you to remember.

Log into the sympa server
--------------------------

1.) Log into http://lists.luther.edu using your email address. If your
email address is a Luther College email address, use your Norse Key
password. If your email address is not a Luther College email address,
use the password for your sympa account (If you did not change your
password, this is the one that was sent to you in the account creation
process. If you did change your password, this would be the password
that you provided to the sympa server.)

2.) Find the list that you want to subscribe to from the Mailing List
Categories. (The cia list is in the category "Organizations and Associations")

3.) Click on the name of the list cia@lists.luther.edu

4.) Click on the subscribe button. You will receive the message that
"Your request has been forwarded to the list owner". Once the list owner
has approved your subscription, you are subscribed to the list.

Posting Messages
