Laser Printing

Fee-based laser printing is available in all ISU Library facilities. Print jobs can be routed to either a networked laser printer or a networked photocopier.

Printing to a networked laser printer: If you send your print job to a networked laser printer, the only payment option is to charge the costs to your university print subsidy (if applicable) or your University Bill. Charges are 10 cents per page for black & white, and $1.00 per page for color (when available). Currently, there are networked laser printers for black & white printing in the following locations:

Parks Library, Lower Level: Media Center
Parks Library, Lower Level: Computer Lab in Room 32
Parks Library, Floor 1: Main lobby
Parks Library, Floor 1: Room 198 (which houses the collection of books with PZ call numbers)
Parks Library, Floor 1: Learning Connections Center (north of the glass wall)
Parks Library, Floor 2: PC cluster (north of the glass wall)
Parks Library, Floor 3: PC cluster (north of the glass wall)
Parks Library, Floor 4: Inside the Special Collections Reading Room
Design Reading Room
Physical Sciences Reading Room
Veterinary Medical Library

The Parks Library's only networked color laser printer is in the Learning Connections Center (Floor 1, Parks Library).

Printing to a networked photocopier: If you wish to pay for laser printing with cash (coin or bill) or ISUCard (personal or departmental), you can send your print job to a networked photocopier. Charges are 20 cents per page for black & white (effective October 1, 2008). This option is currently available in the following locations:

Parks Library: All public PCs (on all floors and tiers) are networked to a single black-and-white photocopier in the Learning Connections Center on Floor 1.
Design Reading Room: All public PCs are networked to a single photocopier.
Physical Sciences Reading Room: All public PCs are networked to a single photocopier.
Veterinary Medical Library: All public PCs are networked to a single photocopier.

LAPTOP USERS: Laptop users can use the PaperCut client to send jobs to networked printers in Parks Library or the branch facilities. Instructions for downloading this client can be found at https://www.sitelicensed.iastate.edu/software/windows/PRINT. The queue names for networked library printers appear below:

COLOR COPYING/PRINTING: In addition to the single, networked color printer in the Learning Connections Center (see above), color copying and printing are available in the Parks Library Copy Center (Lower Level, Room 84), maintained by ISU Printing Services. Networked color printing is also available via the ISU Printing Services' NowPrint system.
