JSTOR content additions, expanded Safari access, and ICC Building Codes are new library tools for the campus community.
JSTOR Content Additions
JSTOR spans many disciplines, primarily in the humanities, social sciences, and life sciences. Originally containing digitized back issues of academic journals, it now includes books and primary sources, and current issues of journals. JSTOR has been promoting/increasing the number of books in their Open Collection in recent months. JSTOR now has over 2500 openly-accessible full-text books available and provides a separate search page for their open access content. All book chapters are available exclusively in a DRM-free model. They work just like the journal articles on JSTOR, with unlimited simultaneous use, PDF downloads, and printing, and no need to log in or use special software.
Expanded Safari access
Safari access has expanded to allow 100 simultaneous users and will shortly increase to unlimited users. Safari is a collection of ebooks, focused primarily on computing and technology subjects as well as a small collection of personal and professional development books. Note that none of these books can be downloaded - - but pages can be printed and/or saved as Adobe PDFs. Researchers can find Safari ebooks by using Quick Search on the library homepage or search Safari directly.
ICC Building Codes
2018 ICC Building Codes are now available full-text online for ISU researchers. Access also includes the 2015 Building Codes so researchers can see both the old and new codes in one place. Note the online access is limited to 1 user at a time.
