Sep 20, 2017 |

Iowa State students and staff are now able to checkout various types of technology from the Tech Lending Room in 117 Parks Library. Laptops can be checked out for one week or for in-library use, which is available on a first come, first served basis. Headphones, chargers, iPads and electronic hardware kits like Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Makey Makey are available, as well. Laptops and iPads are equipped with the same software as the public computers in the library.

The desk attendant can offer basic equipment instruction, and other questions can be directed to IT services staff at the Solution Center, located in Room 192 Parks Library. Fall Tech Lending Room hours are noon-8 p.m. Saturday, 2-9 p.m. Sunday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Technology inquiries can be made at the Circulation Desk when Tech Lending is closed.

See the Laptop Checkout page on the library website for additional policy information. Laptops can be reserved online.

Student computer fees support the purchase of the equipment available for checkout. Arduino, Makey Makey and Raspberry Pi Hardware Kits are made possible by student computer fee funds awarded by the Computation Advisory Committee (CAC).
