University Library administrators serve in Association of Research Libraries leadership

Two members of the Iowa State University Library administration will take on leadership roles in the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) in the coming months.

Hilary Seo

Hilary Seo, dean of the University Library, was elected by ARL membership to serve a two-year term on the association’s Board of Directors. Seo has been with Iowa State since 2004 and served in numerous leadership positions in the library before she was selected as dean in 2021 following a national search. The ARL board represents member libraries in directing association business.

Curtis Brundy
Curtis Brundy

Curtis Brundy, associate university librarian for scholarly communication and collections, is one of 20 selected as a fellow for the 2023 ARL Leadership Fellows Program. Brundy came to Iowa State in April of 2017 from Wartburg College, Waverly. The 13-month program provides emerging senior leaders with opportunities to develop skills needed to direct a multifaceted organization. Seo was an ARL leadership fellow in 2018.

The ARL is a nonprofit organization of research libraries in Canada and the United States whose vision is to create a trusted, equitable, and inclusive research and learning ecosystem and prepare library leaders to advance this work in strategic partnership with member libraries and other organizations worldwide.
