Science & Technology news: Inorganic Crystal Structure Database available on campus
On-campus access to the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) is available to ISU researchers. This database currently contains nearly 185,000 fully identified inorganic crystal structures that have been published since 1913, with about 6,000 new structures added each year. Substances covered by the database include elements, minerals, metals, and intermetallic compounds, for which detailed structural data including atomic coordinates are available. A thorough description of what the database covers can be found in the ICSD online manual.
Each dataset is accompanied by bibliographic information that will lead researchers to the literature where the data were originally published. ICSD offers a variety of search options for locating data, including by chemical composition, symmetry, and structure type.
