There are several forms of open access:

  • Fully open access journals (i.e., all content is open access)
  • Hybrid open access journals (i.e., subscription publications that offer an open access option for an additional fee)
  • Open access repositories (like?the Iowa State University Digital Repository)

At Iowa State, the Library assists scholars with promoting their work through the?ISU Digital Repository. Faculty can send their CVs to? library staff will check publisher permissions and copyright clearance for publications.

There are many advantages to depositing scholarship into the ISU Digital Repository:

  • Greater visibility and impact
  • Scholarship available to a wider, global audience
  • Detailed readership statistics
