JSTOR/Artstor Content Merger

Author: Jeff Alger

Jeff Alger, subject liaison librarian for the College of Design, will share an update on the upcoming merger between the JSTOR and Artstor content platforms at 12:10 p.m., Friday, Sept. 23, 2022. JSTOR has been primarily text-based (articles, books, and book chapters), while Artstor is primarily image-based. Both cover a variety of topics and now include more content such as audio and video. The merger of the two platforms allows for more efficient searches and the results include images and text, which can be incorporated into instructor class materials or student course work. The discussion will take place virtually with the aim to provide information on what those who utilize either or both platforms can expect (at this point anyway) from the merger. This session is part of the COD’s Research Seminar Series which anyone campus-wide can attend. Contact Sandra Norvell (snorvell@iastate.edu) at the College of Design for information on joining the session.
