Digital Repository team elevates Iowa State research

The Iowa State University Digital Repository (DR) is the open access system to collect, manage, share, preserve, and provide free, worldwide access to Iowa Staters’ research and scholarship.

Because material in the Digital Repository is free for the public to access, there is potential for it to be read and cited more often than research behind a paywall. Every item in the Digital Repository is given a stable, permanent URL, making it easy to find, cite, and share.

Managing the Digital Repository is a team effort to help authors across campus elevate the impact of their research by increasing its availability. The following members compose the DR team:

  • Samjhana Ghimire Acharya is a Digital Repository assistant. She uploads research materials to the repository on behalf of authors in the colleges of engineering, veterinary medicine, and liberal arts and sciences.
  • Lisa Gilbert is a Digital Repository assistant. She uploads research materials to the repository on behalf of authors in the colleges of agriculture and life sciences and liberal arts and sciences.
  • Anne Shelley is the Digital Repository Services librarian and unit lead. She oversees deposit of faculty, student, and staff scholarship, creating and maintaining profiles for participating authors, and supporting broader open access initiatives.
  • Lorrie Smith is a Digital Repository assistant. She uploads research materials to the repository on behalf of authors in the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business and the colleges of design, human sciences, and liberal arts and sciences.

Digital Repository staff are eager to work with faculty, staff, and students to add their scholarship to the repository. Contact digirep@iastate.edu to get started.
