Celebrate your freedom to read during Banned Books Week Sept. 23-29.

September 23, 2018, marks the return of an annual event we’re proud to support, but, of course, wish we didn’t have to: Banned Books Week. This year, the focus is on censorship and personal stories, as a reminder that the public has a right to intellectual freedom – both in terms of reading and in terms of writing/telling their own stories. From Sept. 23 – 29, a display in Parks Library will feature some of the most heavily banned and challenged books over the last decade that highlight elements of diversity.
