ISU Library and Writing & Media Center Begin New Collaboration

Beginning Feb. 4, the ISU Writing & Media Center will be extending their hours for tutoring students needing writing assistance by collaborating with the ISU Library's Learning Connections Center. On Mon., Tues., and Wed. evenings, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, writing center tutors will set up shop at the Help and Information Desk (H&I desk) in the library.
Joining these two services is a perfect match. Tutors will have a workstation at the H&I desk next to the reference librarians and the Library's IT student assistants. This provides a perfect trio of services for undergraduate students working on class projects: help with finding information from librarians, help with writing from tutors, and help using the library's multimedia equipment and software from the IT student assistants.
Dr. Rachel Azima, director of the Writing & Media Center, and Rebecca Jackson, head of the Library's Social Sciences & Humanities Dept. and coordinator of the Learning Connections Center, are excited about this collaboration and consider it a win/win for both services.
