Scholarly Communications Librarian

Megan O'DonnellMegan O'Donnell joined the Iowa State University Library on May 15 as the Scholarly Communications Librarian. Her responsibilities include coordination of the overall scholarly communications program which addresses issues with open access, e-science, digital data management plans, data curation, copyright, fair use and author's rights. She will also be serving as the subject librarian for Entomology, Horticulture, and Plant Pathology.

O'Donnell comes to Iowa State as a recent graduate of the Master of Library Science program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a graduate student she worked for the Grainger Engineering Library Information Center where she gathered broad experience working reference, editing and creating metadata, supervising student assistants and working on special projects.

Cataloging and Metadata Management Librarian

Kelly ThompsonKelly Thompson joined the Iowa State University Library on July 8, 2013, as the Cataloging and Metadata Management Librarian. She will promote, organize and build research collections and Information systems and prepare bibliographic records according to national standards and local practices.

Thompson comes to Iowa State as a recent graduate of the Master of Library and Information Science program at the University of Iowa. She has broad experience with varied metadata standards and mark-up languages. At the University of Iowa Libraries she worked on numerous digital projects involving metadata.

Social Sciences and Scholarly Communications Librarian

Emma MollsEmma Molls joined the Iowa State University Library on July 15, 2013, as the Social Sciences and Scholarly Communications Librarian. She will assist with coordinating the library scholarly communications program with open access issues, digital management plans, cat curation, digital repositories, copyright, fair use and authors' rights, as it relates to the social sciences and humanities. She will be serving as the subject librarian for Human Development and Family Studies, Hospitality Management and Apparel Merchandising.

Molls comes to Iowa State as a recent graduate of the Master of Library Science program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she taught library instruction in the UW-Milwaukee Libraries for English 102 students and kept statistical data. Molls served as the student editor of Inside SOIS for the School of Information Studies.
