Digital Repository @ Iowa State University Posts 5,000th Item

Digital Repository @ Iowa State University was launched this past April, providing online open access to scholarship and research produced by the faculty, students and staff of Iowa State. The repository has grown rapidly over the past nine months and has just posted its 5,000th item. These 5,000 items include journal articles and manuscripts, theses and dissertations, e-books, conference posters and presentations, and more.
The 5,000 item added to the repository is Senior Vice President and Provost Jonathan Wickert's article, "An Investigation Into Using Magnetically Attached Piezoelectric Elements for Vibration Control," from the December 2012 Issue of the ASME Journal of Vibration and Acoustics.
By providing open access to scholarship, Digital Repository @ Iowa State University enables Iowa State's researchers to showcase their work to a global audience. Since its launch, the repository has logged over 270,000 downloads and has received visitors from 165 countries and territories, including India, the United Kingdom, China and Canada. The most active contributors of scholarship to the repository include the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
