Employment

Applications for student employment are available in the:

Library Human Resource Services Office
117 Library
294-4176
8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

You must be enrolled for the current semester at ISU to be eligible to submit an application for employment in the library. The Library Human Resource Services Office will call students whose qualifications and schedule fit the requirements of an open position. Duties/skills of a Library Aide may involve assisting patrons, typing, filing, shelving books, shelf reading (checking that books on the shelves are in the correct order), security, working with computers/computer programs, and general office duties.

A 10-hour per week minimum is required for a majority of the positions. Students can work a maximum of 20 hours per week while school is in session during fall and spring semesters. (The combined total of a student's campus employment, including hours worked outside the library, cannot exceed 20 hours per week.) There are approximately 300 student positions in the library. Several students are hired each semester.

For more information and to apply for student positions please stop by the Library Human Resources Office, 117 Parks Library.
