Provides high level management support for the Head of the Preservation Department, the Assistant Director
for Technical Services, and the other Technical Services Department Heads. Supervises the
Binding/Collation/Shelf Preparation Section and the Reformatting Section of the Preservation Department, as
well as Technical Services administrative support services.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, and one year of experience in the following: 1) Library experience in or working with a
technical services processing unit that provides exposure to a variety of technical processing and/or
preservation roles and responsibilities; 2) Successful library management experience involving supervision
of continuous employees, budget monitoring, and project management. Microcomputer experience using a
word processing package. Experience analyzing and solving problems, and negotiating solutions. Proven
written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of binding, collation, and shelf preparation activities; knowledge of reformatting activities;
knowledge of current developments in library technical processing and/or preservation; knowledge of Word
and Excel.
Salary/Wage:
$29,250 minimum, depending on qualifications and experience
