Computers and computer labs

All public computers in the University Library system provide access to the e-Library, the Internet, MS Office, FileZilla, QuickTime, RealPlayer, Adobe Reader, JMP, and WinZip. All computers have USB ports and either CD/ROM or DVD/ROM drives. Other special features or intended uses are highlighted below.

Computer labs and clusters in the Parks Library are intended for open use, except when scheduled for library instructional activities. Labs and clusters cannot be scheduled for non-library instruction.

Parks Library -- Lower Level Library

Computer Lab (32 Parks):

  • 20 PCs
  • Laser printer in 32 Parks and photocopier in Learning Connections Center (Floor 1)

Lower Level Corridor, North/South:

  • 2 PCs

Media Center

  • 10 PCs
  • 8 PCs have read-only Kurzweil software

Lobby (south of the "glass wall")

  • 44 PCs
  • Laser printers in the Lobby and photocopier in Learning Connections Center (Floor 1)

Learning Connections Center (north of the "glass wall")

  • 32 PCs
  • 8 PCs have oversized monitors. Some PCs have access to specialized databases.
  • Laser printers (B&W and color) and photocopier in Learning Connections Center (Floor 1)

Library Classroom, 134 Parks (north of Learning Connections Center)

  • 48 PCs
  • B&W laser printers in 134 Parks and color laser printer and photocopier in Learning Connections Center (Floor 1)

Multimedia Production Studios

  • 8 dual bootable (Macintosh or Windows) iMacs
  • Hardware and software to convert analog to digital in a wide variety of formats, including audio, video, etc. Details available in notebooks by stations.

Disabilities Workstations (188A & 188B Parks)

198 Parks (this room houses the collection of books with "PZ" call numbers)
