Indexes simply list citations of journal articles (and sometimes
conference papers and other items ). Use of an electronic index allows
you to search hundreds of journals at one time enabling precise
retrieval of articles published on a particular subject.
Those indexes marked with an asterisk(*) may be searched simultaneously.
Click on one of the databases and wait for it to appear on the screen.
Click on the "Change" button next to "View database being searched"
Select the databases you would like to search from the list of available databases.
Click on the "Start Searching" button to go to search screen.
AGRICOLA* - Produced by National Agricultural Library (NAL).
Dissertation Abstracts (ProQuest Digital Dissertations) (ISU only) - Provides access to abstracts and information about United States and selected foreign dissertations published since 1861.
MEDLINE* (ISU Only) (U.S. National Library of Medicine's (NLM) premier bibliographic database) There are over 11 million records in the database, dating back to the mid-1960s.
Search NLM's PubMed website (Free to anybody).
Web of Science (ISU only) - Can be accessed through ISI Web of Knowledge. Provides Science Citation Index Expanded. Covers journals on all science topics, and provides the option for multidisciplinary searching in social sciences and humanities.
